Ballot Result for Transfer to SATA/USDAW

The ballot of NACO Active members on whether to transfer to USDAW (SATA Section) concluded as at 12 noon on Friday 16th February, and the result conducted by UK Engage on our proposed transfer has been formally announced.

We are happy to confirm that the results of those voting was almost 82% in favour of the transfer and so this will now move ahead.

The detailed results and announcement can be downloaded here

As mentioned in previous communications, a simple majority of those voting would determine if the transfer went through or not, and consequently NACO will officially be moving into the enlarged Trade Union in due course.

As things stand today, we are hopeful that the transfer will be effective from Tuesday, 1st May 2018.

A period of at least 6 weeks must be allowed to ensure that all legal matters are concluded by the Certification Officer, but NACO will now discuss what will happen between now and the 1st May with our colleagues in SATA/USDAW, and further information will be sent out to all members in due course.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted on what has become a significant moment in NACO’s history.

Bob Lister

Interim General Secretary
16th February 2018
